So if you never been before it's in the Saigon market and go upstairs because that where it is. There are a lot of signs if you don't go through the main entrance but if you do go to the main one just as a worker if you are lost and they will tell you where to go. Once I walked for like 2 mins up the stairs and kept walking finally found it. I called an hour before hand and they still weren't ready with my fish so I would call an hour and a half ahead from the time you want to pick it up. The lady was working alone and she was quite busy handling customers that were dining in. I was the only one picking up. I had to wait 15 mins there until she packaged it and took payment and then I was on my way home. When I ate it at home it was not warm as I wanted it to be which was okay because the lettuce, rice paper, white noodles and sauces made up for it being not warm. It was so good and I would definitely consider going to purchase from them again if I don't find another place I like.

Likes: + I like the crispy fish spring rolls here. + Ample parking and indoor seating. + Open on holidays. + It felt like I had the whole dining area to myself. Pretty peaceful. . Located in a secluded place, quietly tucked away upstairs of a declining supermarket. With not many people knowing about this restaurant, it helps keep the wait short if you're dining in. On holidays, a lot of people order to-go here. Non-likes: - Restroom in need of repair.

I've been going here to get the oven roasted catfish. The location is hidden but once you find this hidden hole in the wall, it's amazing. The lady that cooks the food and also handle the front is a very sweet individual and has a straight shooter personality. Sometimes Vietnamese ladies will try to speak loud and demand their order even if they came after you. I had assumed she would fill those ladies order first but nope, she would politely tell them they had to get in line and wait. First come first serve. I was like she's my type of people. That's why I am a repeat customer. Yes, you have to climb some stairs but think of it as getting your steps in. One can gain access through the supermarket as well. There are other restaurant vendors besides her and it seems like they work as a team when you order food. Because the menu is for all the vendors there, team work. I've seen the lady's daughter also helping her out because it can get busy. If you don't speak Vietnamese, I think the other vendors will be able to assist. Or just point to the picture of the food you want.

does it feel like a fever dream to find this place yes... i love seeing the lady that works here every time. surprisingly i get some of the best service from one woman than i have in a certain popular small hot pot restaurant with like 20 workers.. aha i love vietnamese food and baked catfish is my all time favorite!!! no place makes it better than here. ok maybe the ceiling is falling apart a bit BUT SO IS THE MEAT OFF THE BONES AND THE FLAKING CRISPY SKIN!! the prices can't be beat. i've brought all my friends here for their first time eating catfish spring rolls and they're all equally obsessed. i can probably eat this every single day of my life if i had the choice

Located upstairs of a Saigon supermarket, this is truly a hidden gem. You can find high quality square photos of Vietnamese foods along with my favorite; ca nuong. A savory grilled catfish that is topped. With scallion, fried shallots and peanuts. So if you're allergic to peanuts, definitely remind them! 30-35-40$ for your sizes of small to large. Highly recommend!

Fast, great service! It was really hard to find the restaurant as it was located upstairs inside the supermarket. Ambiance is your typical old-school vietnamese restaurant but it was clean. The owner was super nice and helpful with our order. Between 2 people, a medium sized fish was more than enough! The fish springrolls were so filling yet light at the same time. Loved all the veggies it came with.

Hear me out - worth the adventure for good baked fish spring rolls at very reasonable price. AND USE THE REAR ENTRANCE. First time trying this place and ordered for pickup. Never knew second floor existed above the supermarket. Finding this place was a mission - entrance is the stairs from the supermarket, walk down 2nd floor pathway with open view of supermarket, don't let the chained closed vacant shops with newspaper windows scare you, turn left at the end to see another straight shot pathway with now what seems to be rows of restaurants, two large buckets catching the leaking ceilings, and at the end is where you find the final boss - Auntie Quan Ca. She's busy but still accommodates to her best as what looks like 1-2 WHOAman operation. She then shares there's a shorter entrance to the side and after two flights of stairs is the BACK OF THE SUPERMAKET. Food was prepared nicely and tasted delicious. Would give this another go!

This is such a hole in the wall, "if you know, you know" type of place. In our first time here, I called in for an order for 2 medium fish $40 each. I had no clue where or what this place was about but my friend sent the yelp page to me and I sent my bf to go pick it up. Since we were both unaware of how to navigate and get to the restaurant, he went through the long way and told me he was almost creeped out by the entire walk because there were just empty shops and not much else going on the building. My friend sent me an Instagram video after the matter and we saw that there is a back secret entrance that leads you straight to the restaurant. Wow. What an experience for my bf. He thought I was sending him off to die. Haha. Anyway, back to the food.. everything was so good and well cooked/crispy! This was the perfect amount to feed 6 people (one person didn't eat much though) and with no leftovers. Pro tip: take this to go and make more vermicelli/buy more spring roll wrap at home. Veggies and sauces were plentiful (more than enough) and it's just such an enjoyable experience to eat with everyone! I would definitely come back again and introduce this place to other people.

Quan Ca Saigon continues to be my favorite place to get Vietnamese baked catfish! I've been coming here since 2020 and have always dined in. For the first time ever, I decided to place an order by phone for pickup to eat at home. I am happy to report that it is just as good to enjoy it at home as it is to eat it at the restaurant fresh! Everything was packed so well (see photos)! I was impressed that the catfish came in such a nice foil tray even though I ordered a small 3 pound catfish ($30). This amount was more than enough to feed three people. I love the two sauces - tamarind and fish sauce that it comes with! Veggies were fresh and I asked for the fried onions to be packed separately so that I can reheat at home. Speaking of reheating at home... I kept the fish out in room temperature for several hours before reheating it in the oven. I set my oven to 400F under the "Roast" setting and it took about 15 minutes before it was perfectly crispy and warmed through. Honestly, it tasted so good that I am going to do order pickup from now on because I like eating this at home instead of the restaurant. I was worried of the language barrier over the phone, but the lady who took my order was sweet and understood me well. I highly recommend Quan Ca Saigon if you're looking for Vietnamese baked catfish!
